A basket of 15 private label items from Countdown cost $38.24 in September 2008, placing it second in Auckland behind Woolworths, another Progressive Enterprises brand (the Woolworths store in question has since become a Countdown), and $1.87 ahead of Pak’n Save, the company with the closest market share.
The slogan is absent from stores, and “Countdown” is written in white. A dark grey background supports the name and logo. But on more recent Countdowns (those constructed after 2013), the name and logo are set against a dark green background. Some older stores still bear the outdated logo, which consists of the word “Countdown” in either red or orange on a light or dark green background.
